04/30/2007 : Head Coach of Atlanta Hawks Joins USAAGA Advisory Board
Mike Woodson, the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks, has joined the advisory board of the USAAGA. Coach Woodson is an avid golfer , but more importantly, he is a firm believer in the principles and the mission that the USAAGA espouse. He will offer his guidance, knowledge and connections in furthering the USAAGA's cause. We are very pleased that he has joined our organization.
04/23/2007 : Verdell Michaux Wins Atlanta Golf Invitational
Verdell Michaux won the inaugural event of the USAAGA 2007 season, the Atlanta Golf Invitational. Verdell established a lead on Saturday, and played steady enough on Sunday to fend off other challengers. The weather was perfect, the course played tough, and a good time was had by all. After the tournament, a cookout was held where the participants enjoyed hot dogs, burgers and chicken while the rewards were being presented. Also the "Early Bird entrants" raffle was held, and Pat Smith won a new Nike driver compliments of the USAAGA and Lonnie Wilson, the tournament host.

04/23/2007 : Lonnie Wilson Scores a Hole In One
A picture perfect shot on the 121 yard par three 17th hole at Durham Lakes golf Club, resulted in a hole-in-one for Lonnie Wilson. And in probably one of the rarest situations to ever occur, it was witnessed by his daughter who was monitoring the hole for a contest run by the USAAGA!

04/20/2007 : Winners of USAAGA Tournaments To Receive Custom Designed Cuff Links!!
Beginning with our opening event in Atlanta, each winner of a USAAGA flight in an event will receive a custom designed set of cuff links, compliments of Eren Sky Jewelry and Designs. These cuff links have a retail value of $300, and were designed specifically for the USAAGA by Eren Sky, the premier designer of jewelry in Atlanta.
Please note that you may only win 1 pair of cuff links per year.
04/15/2007 : USAAGA Announces the "Member of the Year" Contest
Effective April 15, 2007, the USAAGA will begin a "Member of the Year" contest open to all USAAGA members. The prize for the winner of the contest will be a custom designed ring designed by Eren Sky, Atlanta's premier custom jeweler. This gold ring with the member's initials in diamonds is appraised at $2500.The contest will run through November 15, 2007, with the winner being announced at the Myrtle Beach tournament in December.
The USAAGA Member of the Year is based on points accumulated during the year. The member with the most points on November 15 is the winner. If there is a tie, the final winner will be selected by the USAAGA board. A member earns points in the following ways:
Play in a USAAGA sponsored Event 5 Points (for each)
Refer members who join the USAAGA 5 Points (for each)
Order the Green Magazine 10 Points
Make a donation of at least $50 to the USAAGA 10 points
So be sure and let your referrals know to put your name on their registration form, and stay tuned throughout the year for additional point awarding events and activities.
04/15/2007 : Eren Sky Jewelry and Designs Becomes Official Jeweler of USAAGA!!
Eren Sky Jewelry and Designs of Atlanta, Georgia has been selected as the official jeweler of the USAAGA. The custom designer of jewelry has designed a custom set of cuff links for the USAAGA valued at $300, which will be presented to each flight winner at USAAGA sponsored tournaments in 2007. Additionally, he will design a custom piece of jewelry valued at $2500 for the person selected as the USAAGA Member of the Year. Look for more details in future announcements.
